The Problem at Gallows Gate (Part 2) - Episode 10 - Jonathan Creek Podcast

The Problem at Gallows Gate (Part 2) – Episode 10

The Problem at Gallows Gate Part II was the fifth episode of Jonathan Creek’s second season and featured a shocking twist with some typically Creekian lateral thinking. In this podcast Gerry and Iain take a look at a treacherous friend.

This episode was the second of a two parter and, like Part I, featured Alistair Petrie; Annabel Mullion; Jessica Lloyd; Stephen Billington; Clarke Peters; Stanley Townsend; and Jennifer Piercey.

The Problem at Gallows Gate Part II was again written by the show’s creator, David Renwick. Keith Washington continued behind the camera, while Verity Lambert remained as producer.

The Problem at Gallows Gate Part II was released in 1998. It is 50 minutes long and originally aired on the BBC. The episode can be viewed on Netflix in the UK and Ireland and the entire series is available on DVD in the UK and other countries, including a comprehensive box set of all the episodes up until Christmas 2016, released by the BBC.

  1. Aw another great podcast. How weird I have just finished watching making a murderer on Netflix. I liked that there was more humour, the police believe Maddie’s story of flushing the answer machine tape and the banter between maddie and the police was great. The theory was a bit mixed for me a lot of effort to go to to pull it off. Even though it was in two parts I thought it wasn’t prolonged or too stretched. I also thought the wrap up was a bit odd but maddie didn’t get solid confession but guess enough witnesses to confirm what was said I guess. Well done guys again very enjoyable to listen to you both ?

  2. You both talk about columbo but I’ve never watched! (Please don’t be mad) is it worth a watch? I enjoy Jonathan creek and have done for years. I guess I haven’t branched out other then Sherlock lol

    1. Don’t worry Kiara, I’d never watched it either before we did the podcast on it. There are definitely some good shows that are worth watching. Start with Murder by the Book (directed by Steven Spielberg) and see how you get on!

      1. Ok I will do thanks will defo give it a watch then. Love that you do the podcasts. Jonathan creek has been my obsession for years, now I realise I’m not alone! Many thanks 🙂
